House demolition, backfill and site leveling in Lipa Noi

The client found us through our website and reached out the same day. He liked that we responded quickly and came to assess the scope of work straight away - he knew from that first conversation what the job would cost and how long it would take. That transparency is how we work.

The plot is in Lipa Noi, on the quieter western side of Koh Samui. It had an old wooden stilt house that needed to come down completely, along with trees and banana palms that had grown around it. After clearing, the client needed the ground level raised by around 40 cm with imported fill and properly leveled for the next construction phase.

Demolition

The Caterpillar 305CR handled the demolition. The house was a timber structure on concrete stilts - we brought it down section by section, broke up the foundation and sorted the material for removal. Working cleanly matters here: debris left in the ground causes problems later during foundation work.

The palms on the plot were cut carefully in sections - there are neighbouring properties close by and we had no room for a falling trunk to cause damage. Slow, methodical work, but the right way to do it.

Clearance and removal

All demolished material - timber, concrete, tree matter - was loaded onto the Hino Super FM18 and taken off site. We ran multiple trips over the five days. A clean site handover means no surprises for whoever comes next.

Backfill and leveling

Around 100 m³ of fill was brought in and spread across the roughly 400 m² plot. The Caterpillar 305CR compacted and leveled the material in passes, building up the level by approximately 40 cm. The final surface was graded with drainage slope taken into account so water runs off rather than pooling.

Result

Five days. Demolition, clearance, backfill, leveling - done. The client walked the site and confirmed everything matched what we had agreed. The plot is ready for surveyors, foundation work and the build itself.
