The client's villa sits in the hills above Chaweng, close to a natural waterfall on his property. His vision: clear a proper path through the hillside vegetation to the waterfall, and use large stones already on site to line the route - the first phase of a planned rest area with a feature waterfall he intends to build there.

Before any machinery moved, we walked the site with the client. He showed us the stones he wanted to use, explained how he imagined the composition, and we agreed on the scope and the result he was looking for. Starting a job like this with a shared picture of the outcome is the only way to do it right.

The work

The Chaweng hillside is steep and the vegetation was thick. Getting the excavator into position and working safely on the slope required care. One of our crew worked from the excavator arm with a chainsaw to reach trees that couldn't be accessed any other way on that terrain - slow, methodical, but the right approach for the conditions.

The Caterpillar 305CR lifted and repositioned the large stones up the slope to the elevated area around the villa, then cleared the trees and loaded the debris into the truck for removal. Once the path was open and the bulk of the material was out, the team finished with manual cleanup using rakes - the kind of detail work a machine can't do.

The client was on site throughout the day, watching the progress and having lunch with the crew. By the end of the day the stones were placed to his satisfaction.

Result

One day's work: path cleared, stones lifted and arranged, debris removed. The client confirmed everything matched his vision and the site is ready for the next phase - the construction of the rest area and the artificial waterfall feature.
